4010 is the second Telekom community-store in Germany
The ambition of the new concept is to offer the young urban public Telekom products and services at street level and to provide a dialogue platform where community and shopping zone merge.
The location in cologne had two challenges: a narrow storefront and a deep floor plan. An architectural element had to be invented which attracts attention at the street and drags the customer into the store: the entranceway with perspective magenta stripes.
Each area in the store has its own character and atmosphere by the use of different materials. The entrance zone is graphic, clean and cool. In the back the existing brick wall and raw ceiling were retained. The entertain lounge with its grey wooden platform is more cosy and colourful (mix of modern and vintage furniture). The third area is the service corner, which material is warm and reserved.
Because of the perspective stripes, every segment has its own individual print. All panels (also wall) have a transparent floor coating/ lamination to get the same surface structure (by resopal).
