The Liquid exhibition is a collection of three different types of knowledge that speak about “how to” prepare ourselves to be ready for before and after the floods, by looking at our previous flood experience in Bangkok in 2011. The exhibition is initiated by SCG Experience, held from August - September 2012 at SCG Experience.
The exhibition is divided into 3 different zones - Flood preparation, Research & Thesis and Case Study. Each describes in practical details aiming the audience to understand better both conceptually and practically about the floods, what to do before and after. The Flood preparation zone focuses on “Inspecting, fixing and maintaining” your own houses. The Research & Thesis shows the good examples of “housing alongside the water”, and good housing design in the floodways. The Case Study zone shows the success and very strong idea of the Krung Kawee project that explains the idea of "It’s not just coincidence that this place is not flooded”.
The exhibition aims to bring the audience into remembering the hard times of the flood experience by leading them to standing in, and roaming over the roofs which are the house elements that are mostly left to see and sometimes, to be evacuated on during flood emergency period. The three sinking giant window s and sinking roofs in different colours are used as the positive elements by being put in front as the landmark sculptures and signage to draw people’s attention from outside into the exhibition.
