Classic and always in fashion, the colors black and white dominate the winter/fall decoration for the store Gobbi Novelle, in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The new visual identity was created by architect Henrique Steyer and designer Felipe Rijo, from ALBUS Design, who used as inspiration and basis for the concept the quote by Aristotle Onassis: "I dye my hair white for business meetings, and black for romantic outings."
The aesthetic proposal was applied in the entire store and website. The "Black and White" concept begins on the entryway stairs, half-painted on each color. The façade follows the same paint scheme. The showroom has been divided as well - creating two clearly distinct settings.
On the inside, the highlights are two "libraries", one totally black, and the other totally white. With such strongly defined colors, its like the store assumed a split personality.
Besides the black-white dichotomy, the decor includes graffiti look-a-likes in the walls and in the storefront windows, signaling a rebel attitude. Adding to this posture, light fixtures hanging from the ceiling in different heights, a mirror ball and images of burlesque dancers. Modern and vintage at the same time, these scenic features pay homage to the decadence of the night and the style of the Folies Bergère, the Parisian club where great artists performed on the first half of the 20th century.
