Casa del Lector (Reader´s House) is one Technical Center of Fundación Germán Sánchez Ruipérez. It opened its doors on Oct 2012, but Alberto Corazón and Oyer Corazón had been working on its signage system and identity since June 2009, on a work-in-process that involved the architect, the interior designers and the Client.
Reader's House is the “short name” of the International Center for Research, Analysis, Development and Promotion of Reading, pioneer in the "cultural understanding" of the act of reading. The focus is on the reader, not on reading, nor in books. The Center is located in the former Madrid´s Slaughter house.
For the Identity Signage of Casa del Lector, we created the typeface Futura Lectora, a thickened version of Renner's Futura. Inside we have used many different fonts, letters, words... steel, neon, vinyl, and Dibond, among other materials.
